Kip Westerfield spent many years as a painter, illustrator and mixed media artist. His first experiences with woodworking were in picture framing, where he would work for custom frame shops and take freelance custom frame building jobs on the side. Later, when he began work at a high end cabinet shop, he was able to build his skills along with his appreciation for the art of woodworking. He fell in love with it, and uses his artistic style to make unique designs using the natural beauty of the wood. Many of the items are crafted with recycled wood to reduce waste.
